In an article titled "Some Interesting Eagles of Maximilian's Mexico" in The Collectors Club Philatelist (vol. 72 #3, p. 171), Leo Corbett stated, about stamps with overprint 98 1864, that "Ten examples of this invoice number overprint have been reported, seven of which are the Ocho Reales value". Six of the seven 8R stamps are on one cover!
At least two of each of the 1r and 2R are known with overprint 98 1864, all used from Espita. The ½R have not been recorded and one 4R is known with Merida cancel.
