According to Bash, most stamps used in Jalapa itself in 1866 were cut close. Usage from the main office is relatively scarce, compared to usage from sub-offices.

Mint remainders, especially with sub-consignment overprints, are relatively common, and so are the 8R stamps without name and with remainder cancel (dated August 30). There are so many of these that it would appear as if all the remainders survived and entered the philatelic markets! In particular, the sub-consigned medio real stamps were almost never postally used.

If we assume that all returned stamps survived until today, it's easy to see that these would outnumber the survivors of many other consignment varieties by a factor of 100 or so!!!
